Actually I am reflecting over a cup of tea. I would offer, but.. You know.

[No hands. You know what; she's just going to come out and say it.]

By the way, ponies cannot fly!

"You know what?" [Pinkie tilts her head, questioningly. Although she's more into milkshakes than tea, but if somepony was offering!]

"And I'm not flying, I'm floating!" [She giggles.] "And, ponies can to fly! Haven't you ever seen a Pegasus? Or an Alicorn?"

What?

[Kodachi replies to Pinkie's question thinking it was a legitimate question. Though after she can't help but frown and lightly tap her chin.]

I have never seen a pegasus, and I haven't the slightest clue what an alicorn is. And flying or floating doesn't make a difference as they are both ridiculous things for a pony to do! Cease your nonsense immedietly!

[Well, that's not very nice, is it?

Pinkie will stop floating, though and instead defy gravity by descending to the ground without letting any balloons go.

Once she's tied them to a handy branch, she'll continue the conversation. ]

"An Alicorn is a pegasus and a unicorn at the same time. I guess you humans don't have anything life that?"

[Kodachi stares all the while. Now, many many ridiculous things happen at her home, but when animals start doing this sort of thing, it really is just... Jarring to the gymnast turned knight.

So once all the balloons are tied up, she can't help but frown a little as she shakes her head.]

Well, I have heard of centaurs which are half human half horse in mythology, but the most we have in this day and age are mixed races.

I suspect you don't speak of unicorns that I am familiar with; but rather fashionable ones with violet hair?

[And she takes a sip from her cup.]

[It’s okay, even in Equestria Pinkie is pretty darn strange.

And cue an enormous gasp from Pinkie.]

"OHMIGOSH! You're talking about Rarity, aren’t you?! She's here? Where?!"

'Rarity'? Well.. That is certainly an appropriate name.

[A bead of sweat falls down the side of her face, though, she's not exactly used to this kind of.. Exhuberance.]

I apologize but, it was quite some time ago. She spoke of offering dress mending services but I have never seen her shop open. I suppose you are an associate of hers?

"Oh...She mustn't be here then. Rarity always finishes what she starts. " [Well, Pinkie almost seeKlms to deflate at Kodachi’s reply, but quickly rallies.]

"But that's OK! We can still be friends. Can I have some tea?"

"Hmn, that is a shame about Rarity.. 'Friends'?" Kodachi ends up getting caught off-guard by that, then raises her free hand to her chin in thought.

Friends. With a talking pink pony. She can't help but smile.

"I suppose something like that could be arranged, but first you will have to pass a test. And I believe sharing a cup of tea would be perfect." she then decides. "But I'm afraid I did not bring a trough. Will a bowl do?"

"Sure!" Of course, ponies from Pinkie's world seem able to hold all sorts of things...but bowls do seem easier.

She tilts her head at mention of a test though.]

"What kind of test? I'm not the best at tests, that's more Twilight's talent."

[Kodachi can't fathom Pinkie holding a cup. Yet in her basket there is indeed a bowl. In fact, it's a red dog-bowl with the name 'Mr Green Turtle' in white along the side.]

Whom? Actually never mind, it is hardly an academic test, but rather a test of compatibility. Things would be easier if we hold common interests, would you not agree?

[And unless she's stopped, Kodachi raises her canister to pour tea into the bowl.]

[Pinkie’ll explain anyway, because how can she not?]

"Twilight’s one of my very best friends and the newest Princess of Equestria! She loves studying and taking tests and stuff like that."

[She'll happily hold up the bowl for tea, although she prefers milkshakes.]

"I guess, but my friends and I like all sorts of different things and we still get along. What do you like?"

[Dammit, Pinkie! Kodachi simply nods politely though for the most part ignore the details. Because ponys that study and take tests. Really? And a Princess? She just lets that go. She does, however, look impressed when Pinkie lifts the bowl.]

Hmn, is that so? I find too many differences bothersome to deal with. As for what I like; various things. I enjoy gardening, taking care of animals, gymnastics.. And the occassional prank or two.

[Only replace the word 'prank' with 'booby trap'.]

[Pinkie can do way more exciting stuff than that! You'll see soon enough.

Right now though, Pinkie gives a squee.]

"Really, pranks? I love pranks, too!" [As long as nobody gets hurt, of course.] "And gymnastics is heaps of fun!"

"Is that so?" [Kodachi seems rather intruiged. Why, if things go well, she might even be able to trick Pinkie into pulling some devious pranks upon Akane. Oh that'd be fun. The teenager's lips draw into a bigger smile. "Oh come now, are you to tell me that you really do gymnastics, Miss Pony?"

A brief pause, then she raises a hand to her cheek.

"Oh, where are my manners! My name is Kodachi. Kodachi Kuno."

[It's more a dance routine than a gymnastics one, but there are a few flips and at the end Pinkie stands on her head. And stays there!]

"Hi Kodachi! It’s so great to meet you!"

[Kodachi seems further amused, though she shakes her head a little. The whole thing is surreal to watch, but she seems to take it all in stride.]

Your performance needs a little work but you have potential. It should be interesting to teach you how to improve your gymnastics skills. And it is a pleasure to meet you as well, dear.

[Kodachi titters behind her hand.]

I'll have to introduce you to my pet alligator sometime; I think you two would get along as well.

[Pinkie's eyes go huge, even bigger than normal, which is quite a sight.]

"Ohmigosh, did you say...pet alligator?!"

[Kodachi can't help but look amused. That's the reaction she often gets, but it's more amusing coming from a pony. How about that!]

Why yes, as a matter of fact I did. That's his bowl, actually- But I did wash it before I brought it here, so don't worry.

"I have a pet alligator too!" [Pinkie can't believe it! What are the chances?!

And another thing they can have in common!

Then she gasps.] "Oh no! He’s still in Ponyville! Poor Gummy! I hope he's OK!"

[And here is when Kodachi spits her tea off to the side, and mun is sad that she never did that in the anime to make an icon from. After that's done she withdraws a kerchief from her basket, uses it to dab at her mouth, then looks back to Pinkie.]

I believe you are proof that he will be fine. Though it is possible that he also is here in Mallow, you know.

My pet came from home, you see. Now why in the world is his name 'Gummy'? Is he made of candy?

[Whoops, sorry! Pinkie didn't mean for that to happen. But she's really quite worried about Gummy.

Although her eyes widen at Kodachi's first remark.]

"Really? Do you think? I haven't seen him since I got here and he's not used to being far from home." [She frowns, but then grins hopeful.]

"But now I can go looking for him! He's called Gummy because he doesn't have any teeth yet. Does your alligator have teeth?"

Well I feel it is at least worth looking into. I was not with him when I was brought here either; I just happened to come across him in a pond at the district I was assigned to. I'd be quite fine with accompanying you to find him- Which district are you from.. Miss Pony?

[She quirks a brow, Pinkie's question seems to be unusual to the Black Rose.]

He most certainly does; mine is an adult. Actually I do not remember him ever not having teeth; I must have taken him in once they grew. I am more fond of creatures with them, you see.

"Well, I got Gummy as a itty-bitty alligator, just born, his birthday’s the day before mine." [A fact Pinkie won’t soon forget, not after the.. .er...unpleasantness.]

"Really, you like teeth? I like been able to carry Gummy around on my hair, I don't think it'll work once he gets his teeth."

[Make of that what you will, Kodachi.]

"And I live in MallowHallow, it's great!"
