"Ohmigosh, did you say...pet alligator?!"

[Kodachi can't help but look amused. That's the reaction she often gets, but it's more amusing coming from a pony. How about that!]

Why yes, as a matter of fact I did. That's his bowl, actually- But I did wash it before I brought it here, so don't worry.

"I have a pet alligator too!" [Pinkie can't believe it! What are the chances?!

And another thing they can have in common!

Then she gasps.] "Oh no! He’s still in Ponyville! Poor Gummy! I hope he's OK!"

[And here is when Kodachi spits her tea off to the side, and mun is sad that she never did that in the anime to make an icon from. After that's done she withdraws a kerchief from her basket, uses it to dab at her mouth, then looks back to Pinkie.]

I believe you are proof that he will be fine. Though it is possible that he also is here in Mallow, you know.

My pet came from home, you see. Now why in the world is his name 'Gummy'? Is he made of candy?

[Whoops, sorry! Pinkie didn't mean for that to happen. But she's really quite worried about Gummy.

Although her eyes widen at Kodachi's first remark.]

"Really? Do you think? I haven't seen him since I got here and he's not used to being far from home." [She frowns, but then grins hopeful.]

"But now I can go looking for him! He's called Gummy because he doesn't have any teeth yet. Does your alligator have teeth?"

Well I feel it is at least worth looking into. I was not with him when I was brought here either; I just happened to come across him in a pond at the district I was assigned to. I'd be quite fine with accompanying you to find him- Which district are you from.. Miss Pony?

[She quirks a brow, Pinkie's question seems to be unusual to the Black Rose.]

He most certainly does; mine is an adult. Actually I do not remember him ever not having teeth; I must have taken him in once they grew. I am more fond of creatures with them, you see.

"Well, I got Gummy as a itty-bitty alligator, just born, his birthday’s the day before mine." [A fact Pinkie won’t soon forget, not after the.. .er...unpleasantness.]

"Really, you like teeth? I like been able to carry Gummy around on my hair, I don't think it'll work once he gets his teeth."

[Make of that what you will, Kodachi.]

"And I live in MallowHallow, it's great!"

[Kodachi blinks slowly. Gummy.. Around in her hair? But it's already clear that Gummy isn't a hairclip or any sort of toy! Her mouth opens and shuts a couple of times, as if trying to find the words, then twists her lips. This pony is oh so very strange!

.. And she thinks she likes it.]

'Great', is it? I could most certainly see why you would enjoy it so, but is hardly a fitting atmosphere for a lady such as myself.

[Another sip from her cup.]

I have no idea if there are bodies of water in Mallowhallow. I suppose it is best if we look for somplace like that first, then.

[Pinkie usually has that affect on other ponies... and apparently people too!]

"Ooo, you're right! And I guess there isn't any ponds in MallowHallow, it's all pillows!"

[She looks around.] "Is there lots of water here?"

Well.. As far as I know, at least. It's hardly an area that I traverse often.

[Kodachi gives a small smile, then glances upward thoughtfully.]

Yes, there is plenty of water around here- It couldn't hurt to do a little looking around, I think. Well then, as soon as we're finished with our tea we can get started, Miss Pony. Are you proficient in any form of combat?

[She gracefully drains her cup; and is actually looking forward to going on this odd little journey.]

[Pinkie slurps her tea - sorry about that - and nods happily.]

"Thanks! I just knew I'd find great friends here!"

,[She pauses at the combat question, tilting her head.]

"You mean like a guard? Well, not really, but my friends and I took out a whole army of Changelings!"

[Browtwitch.]

No. Miss Pony, it is essential that you sip your tea properly. Do it right or don't do it at all.

[Her expression is stern for a moment, then clearly hasn't the slightest clue what a Changeling is. But before she gets to that, first thing's first.]

[Pinkie looks appropriately abashed, she didn't mean to be rude.]

"Oh! Sorry!"

[She does her best to channel Rarity, or Fluttershy - or both! - and manages a truly dainty sip!]

"Like that?"

Yes. That is quite impressive, especially for a pony. You must tell me a more about where you come from sometime.

But first, could you explain to me what a 'changleing' is? I would guess that it has something to do with changing forms? And how did you defeat one if you do not have a style of combat?

[Kodachi has no problem, nor sees any problem with teaching a pony martial arts, should the opportunity arise. It's peculiar enough to tickle her fancy.]

[Pinkie opens her mouth to answer what Equestria’s like right away, but the question about Changelings has HR changing tack quickly.]

"Yep! That's exactly it! They can be any pony at all and their queen tried to take over the whole of Canterlot!"

[Scary stuff, no doubt about it!]

"Lucky for us Twilight figured it out! One of the reasons she's an Alicorn Princess now."

[Pinkie's a chatty one isn't she? Kodachi decides eventually it's best to start packing up and starting there search since there won't likely be any shortage of chit-chat. She finishes her cup, then starts to gather everything together.]

We've never had events like that happen where I am from; it certainly sounds exciiting in a way, though. Hmn, so you and your friends worked together to defeat them. Well, Miss Pony, I think that having a form of self defense would be very beneficial for you since your other friends are not about at the moment.

Would you not agree?

[Pinkie follows Kodachi's lead - being careful not to slurp! - then hands the bowl back.]

"Yep, we work together a lot!" [She heaves a little sigh, she misses them!

But she perks up once more.]

"Sounds great! Especially if I find Gummy, he might need protecting."

[After taking the bowl, she proceeds to pack everything into her basket. She can already see the possibilities with having a little prankster combatant for a partner- It should be fun!]

Well, Miss Pony, if it's any consolation, I believe you and I shall be working together 'a lot' as well. Now then, we shall get started to Mallow Hallow- Out of curiosity, is there baking in this 'Canterlot'?

[With her items gathered up, she's ready to take the lead- and does so!]

[Pinkie happily bounces along at Kodachi’s side.]

"I hope so! I can tell we're gonna have loooooads of fun."

[She gives a nod.] "Yep! And in Ponyville too! That's what I do! Well, I help Mr and Mrs Cake."

[Kodachi nods, seeming to agree this could be the start of a beautiful friendship indeed! It's quite a long trek back to Mallow Hallow, but it would seem Pinkie has no shortage of chit-chat! Unfortunatly it is a little difficult for the gymnast/knight to follow at times.

SOME TIME LATER

Kodachi and Pinkie arrive at MH, and shortly after that arrive at a pond... A pond made of blue pillows, of course. She doesn't seem impressed by it.]

Hmnn.. I suppose we could start here. Though I am uncertain how exactly one swims in a pond of this nature. [A glance to Pinkie.] Any ideas?

[Indeed! If you look up ’talkative’ in the dictionary there’d be a picture of Pinkie... That would pop out and start chatting!

On arrival at the Pillow Lake and Kodachi’s comment Pinkie assesses the situation for a few moments.]

"I guess...just dive in!"

[So she does! Sending up a splash of tiny white pillows!]

[The Black Rose doesn't really seem to mind the chattiness at all, though some things she just.. Doesn't know how to respond to other than smiling and nodding!

As for Pinkie's dive.. How about that? Perhaps Kodachi shouldn't be so surprised by the splash of pillows but she is!

Kodachi drops to a kneeling position at the pond's edge and waits expectendly.]

Well .. I did not know pony's can swim.

"Of course we can swim! How else would we stay cool in summer? Aside from ice cubes, and icecream and fans..." [Hmmm, well, either way, ponies can swim.

Even in Pillow Ponds it seems, although that could just be Pinkie. The pond does feel and act like regular water though... Pinkie splashes about.]

"Gummy? Gummeeeeee! Are you in here?"

What? But that's different!

[Kodachi, however, finds herself at a loss in trying to explain in what way- so she'll just have to let it go. But she gets a bit into the spirit of the district's nonsense and withdraws her gymnasts ribbon from her basket, attatches a bread crumb to it, then tosses the ribbon into the water.]

Anyhow, I shall assist as wel-- Did you say fans? As in.. Folding fans?
