001 | Video/Action for Crystalden

[Bruno looks more than a little distracted as the camera switches on. That could be because he's busy examining one of the buildings here in Crystalden, obviously absolutely fascinated with everything around him.

The feed literally just shows him staring at the building for a good solid minute before he seems to notice that the camera is on.]

...Oh, right! I forgot about this! [He offers the camera a smile.] Hi! I was just wondering, does anyone actually know where we are? Are we in the future or maybe... [He pauses.] Maybe we've been pulled into a space-time anomaly that dragged us into an alternate universe!! [He obviously thinks this would be Really Neat.]

Any thoughts? You can come talk to me if you're in the area. Uh, I think Crystalden is what they called it... Yeah. [He smiles brightly and then clicks the feed off as he goes back to looking around himself.]

[ Yuusei almost sighs in relief, because honestly, he's glad that Bruno's willing to stay. Having to spend more nights in a quiet apartment would've been unfortunate, and having to spend nights in a less than quiet apartment but without waking up to see Bruno there would've been worse.

At Bruno's comment about Yuusei's typical sleeping habits, he chuckles as he moves closer to the bed and settles himself by the window. ]

This place is... it's like home, but it isn't. It doesn't take much for me to adjust, you know that, but it was harder to.

[ Mind you, he appreciates the company of Juudai and Yuugi and Atem, and V and Jesse and the others, but... despite being duelists, there's just a sort of lack of proper familiarity there. With Bruno (or admittedly anyone from his time), things are different, and he can start feeling a little more like himself. And as he thinks of that, he looks over at Bruno and smiles. ]

But I'm sure it'll all be easier now.

[Knowing Yusei as well as Bruno does, it's not hard for the blue-haired man to figure out that there's a lot more going on in Yusei's mind than he's letting on. At the same time, if Yusei really wanted to say any of it, he would. So Bruno's more than willing to let it slide for now.

Besides, it seems more likely that Yusei just needs some cheer in his life to make things better for him right now!]

It sure will! Because you'll have me to help make everything easier! [Bruno smiles and reaches out to pat Yusei's hand.] It's like... a home away from home, yeah?

[ Yuusei offers another quiet chuckle at that as he nods, stepping away from the window to settle himself down next to Bruno. But Bruno, if only you knew. He wants to get it all out, has wanted to for a while now, but is this even the right time? How long will they even be there? Would it be better to wait until he's resolved everything at the Ark Cradle?

And that's only really the tip of the iceberg in regards to the questions he's asked himself all along, and will probably still ask himself for a while. ]

The timing could've been better, but... yeah. A home away from home. [ Yuusei manages a smile, because there's no denying that he's happy just having Bruno at his side again. ] Thank you for staying here with me.

Are you kidding? Yusei... [Bruno very emphatically grabs Yusei's hands, both of them, and looks him earnestly in the eyes.] Thank you for letting me stay! [He pauses as he squeezes Yusei's hands.]

And thanks for everything you've done for me. Sincerely. You mean... more to me than you can possibly know. [Whoa, sappy much?]

[ That... gets him thinking though, and his smile fades a little as he does so. It's not the hand-squeezing - in fact, he barely notices that Bruno's hands are holding his right now - but the words. If that's true, if Yuusei really does mean so much to him, then maybe...

No, that's ridiculous. Bruno has a tendency to over-exaggerate his feelings a bit, doesn't he? But the sincerity in his voice doesn't go unnoticed at all, and Yuusei doesn't even register the fact that he's shifting his hands in Bruno's, his fingers slipping between Bruno's to hold those larger hands a little more intimately. But Yuusei's small smile returns and he nods once. ]

I could say the same to you. But I'm glad I let you stay the first time around so I could do this again.

[The shift in the way Yusei was holding his hands didn't escape Bruno's notice, and he couldn't help but look down at their linked fingers, a small smile playing across his lips.]

I haven't done anything for you yet, Yusei. But I promise I'm going to do everything I can to repay you... [There might be a small twinge of guilt to his tone. But he doesn't know if there's something wrong or not.

To distract himself, Bruno squeezes Yusei's hands again, carefully linking their fingers even more tightly together.]

[ It's when he follows Bruno's gaze that Yuusei notices what he's done - being so deep in thought isn't always a good thing, but... maybe this time it is, because he knows that otherwise, he wouldn't have let himself do that. He swallows as he stares for a moment, then looks back up at Bruno when he speaks, shaking his head slightly. ]

You've done more than you realize, then. Just you being my friend is more than enough, and I couldn't ask for anything more than that.

[ Even if there is that part of him that says he wants more than that, and he can't deny that. In response to the squeeze, Yuusei squeezes back and rubs his thumb slowly along Bruno's as if to reassure him of his words. Or maybe encourage something else, though he's certainly not expecting it. ]

[This... this is going someplace that Bruno wasn't expecting. He looks to their hands and then up at Yusei uncertainly. In his memory (which wasn't very extensive, honestly), Bruno had never experienced anything like the feelings he had for Yusei. But he also didn't quite know what to do with his feelings. Should he act? Should he wait? Was Yusei trying to give him a hint??]

Yusei, I... [Bruno takes a slow breath.] Eheh. I don't know what to say. It... means a lot to me to hear that from you.

[ Yuusei catches that look, then glances away as he slowly eases his hands from Bruno's grasp, and he takes a slow, deep breath as he stands and sheds his jacket. Maybe it's just the heat in the apartment, but it's a little too warm for his tastes. ]

I think I'm going to go wash up. [ He pauses to remove his shirt too, then glances over his shoulder. ] If you're hungry, there's food in the kitchen. Otherwise, you're welcome to do whatever you like.

[The moment that shirt comes off, Bruno can feel his mouth going dry.]

I... [He reaches out very suddenly and grabs Yusei's wrist, tugging him closer as he stands up.]

Yusei... I'm not really sure about a lot of things, so you can go ahead and tell me if this is... weird, but... Are you flirting with me? [Blunt, blunt.]

[ Yuusei honestly doesn't expect to be grabbed, so he trips over his feet a little when he's pulled closer to Bruno, eyes a little wide in surprise as he looks up. Flirting? That's... That's not quite the phrasing he'd use. Dropping hints maybe, but even then, now that he thinks back on it... he was dropping a lot more hints than he'd expected.

It's easy to sort things out in his mind, though. Not so easy to say something like that. So he takes a moment to breathe again as he looks straight ahead for a moment, then looks back up, and when he speaks, his voice is quieter than it has been. Because this? This is harder than it looks. ]

... I guess you could say that.

[Okay, so he wasn't just imagining it. Letting out a slow breath, Bruno looses his grip on Yusei's wrist and shifts to grab his shoulder lightly instead.]

...Okay, one more question.

[Okay, okay. You can ask it, Bruno. Do it.]

Why? I mean, I like it. And I'd flirt back if I could figure out how to do it right, but... why are you flirting with me?

[ That's an even harder question to answer with proper words. But the easiest way seems to be to answer a question with a question; he hopes it makes sense to Bruno why he can't just kiss a man he cares about without talking about it first. ]

Why else would anyone drop hints like that?

[ Though he said he liked it, didn't he? So maybe-- no point in thinking, because it's about time to act. Yuusei pushes himself up on his toes to lean in and presses a light, but lingering kiss to the corner of Bruno's lips before settling himself back down. ]

... I should get washed up, though.

[Bruno was about to respond to Yusei's question when the other man kisses him. Color rises to Bruno's cheeks and he blinks owlishly at Yusei for a few long moments.]

I... you...

O-okay. [Yes, he's blushing. And yes, he's touching the spot where Yusei kissed him reverently. Oh my gosh, he should kiss Yusei back, but he doesn't want to mess with Yusei washing up and... ;;]

[ For a moment, Yuusei's concerned, but once the rest of Bruno's reaction comes to light - him touching the spot and the way color makes its way to his cheek - he can't help but chuckle a little. ]

Go eat something. If you want, there can be more of that when I'm done.

[ ~~Or he could just follow--~~ ... Why yes, he did just say something like that, and Yuusei smiles as he turns, lifting his arms over his head to stretch as he makes his way down the hall to the bathroom, kicking off his boots and unfastening his jeans as he goes along. For what it was... that turned out rather well, Yuusei thinks. ]

[Bruno can't take his eyes off of Yusei as the man walks away.]

F-for real? [He doesn't really speak loud enough to Yusei to hear him though. Rather than take Yusei's advice and getting some food, though, Bruno just kind of flops back on the bed and stares up at the ceiling, continuing to imagine the feeling of Yusei's lips and...

Wow, okay. He is feeling way too good about this.]

[ Yuusei's showers have always been short, and living a life like the one he has for the past month really hasn't changed that. So he's quick to finish, doing nothing more than ruffling his hair briefly with a towel so it's only damp before wrapping it around his waist. And he really honestly expected Bruno to go get something to eat like he advised, so he feels free to make his way down the hall and to his dresser before--

Oh. Bruno's right there. Yuusei stops, then leans against the wall as he just watches Bruno for a moment, content to remain silent until he's noticed. Seems like a small kiss affected Bruno more than he'd anticipated. Almost makes him wonder what a proper kiss would do to the taller man. ]

[For a while, Bruno is still so wrapped up in his thoughts that he doesn't realize Yusei is out of the shower. When he does, he sits up quickly, very subtly (read: not subtly at all) grabbing a pillow and clutching it on his lap.]

Oh! That was quick! [He laughs a little awkwardly.] I forgot how efficient you are at everything...

[ Efficient indeed, and in a few ways he still likely doesn't know about. Yuusei pushes himself away from the wall (making the towel shift a little lower on his hips, but shh) and makes his way to his dresser to pull out some clothes. He glances over his shoulder though, pausing to take in the rather amusing sight of Bruno with the pillow in his lap. ]

I didn't interrupt anything, did I?

[ Is he sounding amused? Sorry, but it's kind of adorable, the way Bruno's acting. Can anyone really blame him? ]

[Clutching the pillow a little tighter, Bruno can feel his face heating up again.]

No, no! I was just... thinking, that's all! Resting a little after ... everything that's happened today...

[That's nice and vague, right? And why does he even need to be vague, he's already kind of, sort of admitted to being attracted to Yusei... UUUGH.]

[ Uh-huh. Yuusei curls his fingers where the towel is tucked in as he leans over to pull out a shirt from the bottom drawer - because yes, the towel is most definitely hanging off of his other hip where he's not holding - then straightens and looks at the dresser.

Huh. ]

Do you want drawer space, or are you fine with just the closet?

[ Because really, if Bruno would rather have a dresser for his clothes he'll eventually be getting, he'll gladly move his own clothes to one of the closets. ]

[Okay, we're changing the subject, good good. Though Bruno pulls the pillow just a liiiittle bit closer as he watches that towel slipping and....

RIGHT, RIGHT. REPLY TO YUSEI, IT'S OKAY BRUNO.]

O-oh, no. I'm fine with the closet! You don't have to move your stuff for me... [Dammit, Yusei, do you even realize what you're doing to Bruno with your sexy body? Ugh!]

[ Yuusei kind of knows. Only kind of though. It's kind of because of that, that he's not really letting himself turn around, though. He knows exactly what'll happen if he does, because he can just... tell (aside from the fact that Bruno's made it perfectly obvious anyway) the kind of state Bruno's in. So he quietly clears his throat and nods, then goes for a pair of pants, then turns to head down the hall and into his closet to get dressed. Normally he just dresses there by the dresser, but...

He'll at least spare Bruno that embarrassment. Though, he pauses at the doorway of the closet and looks at Bruno on the bed and opens his mouth to speak... then shakes his head as he thinks better of it. ]

Give me a minute.

[ With that, he slinks in to get dressed, leaving Bruno with a moment of peace. ]

[Bruno can't stop watching as Yusei walks away. Damn, damn, damn. He wasn't expecting this when he showed up in this place.]

Yeah, yeah. Just... take your time.

[Forcing himself not to whine, Bruno just flops back on the bed again as soon as Yusei's out of sight. He pulls the pillow off of his crotch and instead buries his face in it, mumbling to himself about how stupid he's being.]

Dumb, dumb. It was just a little kiss, stop acting like this, he's your best friend, it's okay. [And so on.]

[ All Yuusei's really doing is slipping on a pair of boxers, and his pants over top of that, so it takes him all of twenty seconds before he's making his way out of the closet, shirt in hand and ready to pull on-- until he notices Bruno. He hasn't really moved, but the pillow has, and is planted firmly on Bruno's face. And Yuusei can hear the mumbling, but can't quite make out the words until he steps closer, quietly as he sets his shirt back on the dresser.

And maybe his eyes linger a little too long elsewhere, and it does nothing to help him (because just knowing that Bruno's like that has him just as much, really), but he tears his gaze away to focus on Bruno's face. Or rather, the pillow over his face. And he can make out some words, about how dumb he's being, something about a kiss, and... well, maybe he should make things a little more clear for Bruno, even if he still has his doubts of if this is even the right time or place for it. But if there's a chance of them getting separated again, it's best if Bruno knows now, isn't it?

So Yuusei doesn't waste another second, placing a hand on the bed as he swings a leg over Bruno's body and pushes himself up onto the bed, straddling the other as he pulls the pillow away. He gives Bruno a second or two to at least process it a little, but before he can protest, Yuusei presses his lips against Bruno's forcefully. And he swears if Bruno still doesn't get it... well. He'll do more if he needs to. But the moment Bruno says no, no matter what it is, he'll stop. He just needs Bruno to get it, and then they can go along with the rest of their lives with a little more happiness. ]
