 [He's not really sure what to say so he stares at the camera, playing with his wrist bracers, chewing on his lip. As the camera focuses, his face hardens, his eyes glinting at whoever might be watching. His body relaxes, a pointed effort, and he grins his usual shit-eating grin, finally addressing his audience.]

Anyone have Duel Monsters cards?

[He'll be damned if he doesn't duel, even while he's stuck in this place.]

[Oh hey, Judai knows this guy! It's ... wait, no, it's not Atem. It's the Other Yugi-san! There is a distinct difference that Judai picks up on almost immediately - as if he innately knows that his self-preservation depends on it.]

I've got a deck! [He grins at the screen.] I'd love to take you on again, Yugi-san! [Pause.] Uh... Other... Yugi-san, I mean... [Wow, no, this is gonna get confusing.]

[His answer is holding up a card for the camera--backward, of course, no need to go and show him what it is--and a faint smile.]

I think you'll find there's a few people here who do.

Duel... Monsters?

[This girl can't possibly have cards. Her tone is too questioning and her hair isn't crazy enough. Still, she's asking.]

I can't say I've heard of them myself. What kind of cards are they?

Oh ... You know who I am?

[Again? Duel him ... Again? This person doesn't really look familiar, but then again, Yuugi can't claim to remember every single person he's ever dueled in his (short) life.]

Well, I'm not one to turn down a duel, but ...

[His lips twitch up into a grin.]

Shouldn't you introduce yourself first?

[At least he can sense the duelist's spirit in this one. That's something.]

[Yuugi takes a moment to look the other over. He has a pleasant face, but there's something about him that Yuugi can't quite place, though he's not sure what it is. Really, he'd only be sure if he were to duel him.]

Heh.

[He snorts.]

Well, at least something stays the same.

[He pauses another moment and then introduces himself.]

I'm Yuugi.

[He holds up his deck and flips through the cards. She obviously isn't a duelist so it's not as if showing his cards to her will do any real damage. He holds up the Dark Magician for her to see, though he's not really sure if it IS a girl to be honest. The voice SOUNDS kind of like a girl ... ]

It's a trading card game that's popular where I come from.

[He explains.]

I'm Yuugi.

[sunbloom]

[When she sees the Dark Magician, Itsuki's eyes light up in understanding as she studies the monster.]

Oh, is that what those are called? There are a few students at my school that play... I watched them a couple of times, but I didn't understand it completely. I wouldn't mind learning, but I don't know if you'd be able to find cards here.

Oh! I'm Itsuki. Itsuki Myoudouin. It's nice to meet you!

[He's never taught anyone to play Duel Monsters before, though he does have SOME extra cards. He's usually sure to carry more than just what he needs in case he wants to change his deck.]

I have a lot of cards with me. If you want to learn I can try to teach you?

[It's a stupid offer, really. He'll probably be a crap teacher. Heh.]

Yeah. It's nice to meet you, too, Itsuki.

[ Cue in this kid looking like he's SPARKLING ]

I do! You're a duelist too?!

[Oh yeah, he had the spirit of a duelist, Yuugi could feel it coming from him in waves. It was ... nice.]

Yeah, I am. Name's Yuugi.

Yuugi? [ He looks like he's thinking....]

I thought I already met you!

[ OH WELL, clearly it doesn't matter ]

Yuma! Well, Tsukumo Yuma, but you can call me Yuma!

Wait ... Yuugi?

[He ponders this.]

So, he looks like me, right? Except his bangs hang down and his eyes are probably a different color ...

[Could it really be? His partner?!!]

Now that I think about it, yeah! His hair is a little different and his eyes are purple.

[ We should take a moment and be proud that Yuma remembered that much...]

Yes! That's Yuugi!

[He paused.]

But I'm also Yuugi, the Other Yuugi.

[Actually, he was not really Yuugi at all, but it was just easier to explain that way ... ]

It's nice to meet you, Yuma.

[ Yuma considers this for a moment before: ]

...Your name can't be other...and if there are two Yugis that's going to get confusing....

We should call you something else!!

V. [said with a little nod of acknowledgement.]

If you don't mind me asking, could you tell me where you're from? Even though there's a few of us who know the game, we aren't all from the same places.

[Or times. And even though that name is kind of vaguely familiar from somewhere, he's kind of doubting that it's because they're from the same place...

Good luck, Yuugi, you ran into a scientist...]

[Five? That's a weird name ... But his name means "game", so who is he to talk, really?]

[He answers with a shrug.]

I've dueled in a tournament there ... Battle City.

[This person didn't look like anyone he remembered. There had been a lot of people in Battle City, though. Maybe in other parts of the world they dueled, and he was from one of those places.]

[He sighs and runs his hands through his hair, a nervous tick of his.]

Well ... They used to call me Yami no Yuugi ... I guess you can call me Yami.

[The idea makes him uncomfortable. Dark. Tch.]

I used to duel with a lot of fiend cards ... But I always build my deck based off of my heart. This is my best deck yet.
