[Ever since Rapunzel got her communication device, she had been playing with it a little.  While she had no idea what was just handed to her, she must have found out how to turn the phone on and call people by mistake because all you see now is part of her face and her extremely long hair being dragged on the ground behind her as she was being manhandled by the people who have been dragging her around since she'd gotten there.]

I don't have time for this! I can't be here! Eugene is in trouble. He's going to die if I can't heal him... 

Please stop this!

[No matter what she said or how much she pleaded, they wouldn't listen to her. Just like that, she was left alone in Highcrest and told to find a place to stay. She just stood there without so much of looking at the new device she had been given, completely forgetting that it was broadcasting. She was stuck here and Eugene was dying.]

I can't be here right now.... What am I going to do though? I don't know where I am or how to get out. He's going to die.... because he was protecting me....

[The scroll falls out of her hands as she collapses into tears. No! It couldn't end like this. She couldn't lose Eugene. He told her she could find a new dream after seeing the lanterns, but quite frankly, her new dreams.... They involved living happily with him or something like it. After a while, the communicator turns off by itself.

OOC: So Terra is a terrible person for bringing Rapunzel at this time, but she's also very late with this intro. Feel free to see her in Highcrest or over the comm.]

[Okay. Chloe is a bit new to this and isn't quite sure if she's dreaming or was taken, but she can't ignore this panicked voice. She'll try to figure things out for herself later. Tentatively, her voice streams through. If Rapunzel is looking, she might see a face of a girl near her own age, concern in her eyes.]

H-Hey.

[Short pause.]

Someone... was protecting you?

[Now that's something Chloe can relate to.]

[Sorry Chloe, you're seeing the top of Rapunzel's head because she has no idea how to use this just yet. She's kind of looking around to figure out where it's coming from.]

... Yeah... but he's in danger and I can save him if I could find him in time. I... I don't know if I'll be able to save him now since I've been brought here.

[Silence follows for a moment. She feels for you, Rapunzel. She really does.]

[She's what? Sorry? Chloe doesn't see how that will help.]

I'm Chloe. Maybe if we work together, we can ask around and see if he's here, too.

[It was worth a shot, right? Especially if this was anything like... that other place Chloe found herself in. It felt real...]

[Picking up the scroll, at last you can see a little more of her... unfortunately it's just part of her very long hair.... And then there's her eye.]

Oh! What is this and how did you get in here?

[Distracted a little but... She's never seen anything like this before.]

[Woah. That's a lot of hair. Okay, Chloe's not going to ask. She's going to play it cool. Hopefully.]

It's a communication device. [Chloe laughs a little in relief at the question. Yes. Change of thought is a go.] Your device carries your voice--and picture, for now--to my device so we can talk and see each other. There are many different ways to communicate, but this is one of them.

[Chloe doesn't mind the distraction at all. The devices are a bit strange to her, too, seeing as hers resembles a chalk board rather than a real phone.]

Highcrest. I am is Astralfield, so I'll have to find my way to wherever you are. I don't know how long it will take me, either.

[Chloe frowns in thought at that. Just how big was this place, anyway?]

I am. His name is Derek. H-he's my boyfriend. [Chloe blushes a little at that, hoping Mallow Hallow would be like the Keep so she and Derek wouldn't have to pretend to be brother and sister any longer. Ruins the romantic vibe.]

[Boyfriend.... She couldn't help but to blush at that comment, but there are more pressing matters to worry about at the moment.]

[Jack frowns. Had she forgotten him so quickly? But right now, that's not important]

[ Yuma laughs, smiling more ] It's the communicators! It took me a little bit to figure them out too.

I'll start looking for him! [ With that, he's running, his eyes searching around him while he keeps Rapunzel on the video ]

[Tapping on the screen a little.]

[Wiping the remaining tears off her cheeks and getting up.]

[Kurama's been watching from the shadows of a nearby alley, drawn by the commotion - in his experience, commotions involving the knights are usually bad news. This one, however, doesn't seem to have anything to do with him, or his sister - but he can't quite seem to bring himself to leave, anyway.

He shouldn't get involved, he knows that - this place is hard enough to deal with, especially now, with his look-alike running around. He should just walk away, go back to his life looking after himself and Emmanuelle, but...

Look at her. She's helpless and all alone, and that golden hair reminds him of home, so before he knows it, he's slipping out of the shadows and approaching the girl, digging into a pocket for a handkerchief.]

[She didn't even notice him approach her until she noticed the handkerchief. Looking up, she was rubbing her eyes.]

Ah... T-thank you..

[She gently took the handkerchief with a thankful look and wiped her tears from her face.]

[He nods in response, hoping she doesn't notice that the handkerchief is high-quality silk - quite at odds with the more common cut of his shirt, vest, and breeches. He'd lifted it from some fancy shop just a few weeks after arriving, mostly just to see if he could.

Of course, it might not matter even if she does notice - he can just say they were given to him, which might as well be true, since nothing here costs any money for the newcomers, anyway.

He crouches to put himself on eye level with her, glancing around as he does so. Sure enough, they're already starting to get some unkind looks from the locals.]

If...you're feeling any better, it might be prudent to move elsewhere.

[Not far along behind her brother, Emmanuelle steps from the same alley, hood up over her hair, expression grim. She doesn't crouch, but stays at Kurama's shoulder.]

Because you're drawing unnecessary attention. It's best to avoid that whenever possible.

[Giving Emmanuelle a chastising glance, Kurama stands as well, offering a hand down to Rapunzel to help her up.]

Not all of the locals here are particularly fond of having newcomers dropped into their home. Besides, I thought you might be a little more comfortable somewhere that isn't...the ground.
