[Assassin has been dutifully following her Master's orders, tracking one of the natives as part of the "game" he proposed to her. Sometimes, though, something else catches her eyes, and she finds herself distracted from the task at hand. This is one of those times.]

[Her target lives in Orlea, and from what she has gathered, music is one of his primary hobbies. So, it's no surprise when tailing him eventually leads to her following him into a store centered on as much. She has never really had the chance to listen to music before, much less any of the modern sort, so it isn't long before her attention falls away from him and onto the racks of CDs.]

[This is the backdrop when she decides ask a question of the populace at large. She wastes no time on an introduction or an explanation when she opens her mouth.]

What kinds of music are good?

[After this question is asked, if anyone is in the area and interested in stopping by the store, they may find Assassin inside, headphones held over her ears as she listens to whatever CD she happens to be sampling at the time. She has been picking what to listen to by how much she likes its name, which is maybe a little childish, but she is a child.]

Oh. That's too bad. [She knows all about wanting to be whole, after all. She goes quiet for a little bit, waffling over what to say next. On the one hand, she knows she can't tell him much, but...] I'm only part of someone.

[Pharos looks over her, a little surprised but far from judgmental. He'd thought that was unusual...] Really? How?

Um... I can't really explain it. But there are eighty of us. [...] I'm the only part here, though.

I see... I'm sorry. [He was only in thirteen parts, and that was confusing enough for a while...]

[smallskull]

[She shakes her head.] It's okay. It's strange, but I'm fine this way. [...] Um, don't tell anyone else what I just said though, okay? It's supposed to be a secret.

[darkhourdear]

Alright. I won't. [friends keep secrets, right?]

[smallskull]

Okay. Good. [She doesn't think to thank him. Then, because she isn't sure how to go about these things, she asks:] Do you want to be friends?

[darkhourdear]

[Pharos nods, smiling.] Do you?

[smallskull]

[She nods as well, emphatically to make up for her not-very-emotive expression.] Uh-huh.

[darkhourdear]

Alright. Then let's be friend. [that's how this works right.]

[smallskull]

Okay. Then we're friends. [That's exactly how it works.] Where do you live?

[If he's her friend, she should know for stalking purposes.]

[darkhourdear]

Astralfield. What about you?

[smallskull]

Oh. I'm in Lochwell, but I come here during the day a lot.

[darkhourdear]

I think I've been there. I've been trying to look around the city, but it's very big.

[smallskull]

Mmhm. This place is big, so there's a lot to explore. [Learning the layout of each district is a good cover story for her being here, right?] What's Astralfield like?

[darkhourdear]

It's interesting. If you're there at about 10, you fall asleep. [which is still weird, why is it 10 and not midnight] And I think some things that show up in your dreams show up there the next day.

[smallskull]

Oh. [Her brow furrows a little.] That sounds strange. What kind of things show up?

[darkhourdear]

I'm sure there are more things than what I've noticed, but there have been Shadows around, and there were some flowers I think Tear recognized...

[smallskull]

"Shadows"?

[darkhourdear]

[He nods.] They're creatures from my world. [And he technically is one, mostly.]

[smallskull]

[She accepts that information easily enough.]

What are they like?

[darkhourdear]

It depends on the Shadow and their arcana.

[smallskull]

I don't get it. What's an "arcana"?

[darkhourdear]

[Pharos frowns, thinking. The arcana are such a large part of him and how he understands his world... he's not sure how to explain them.]

Do you know what tarot cards are?

[smallskull]

[Oh! Recognition shows on her face. There's another of Hassan's faces that knows a lot about fortune telling, so she's at least heard of them. She nods.]
