[Judai looks pretty bemused as he looks into the camera. It's taken him a while to get to this point, but he's finally coming out of his self-imposed shell to try and figure out more about the world he's been shoved into.]

Hey guys! Uh... and gals. Whatever. My name's Judai and I was just... well, I was wondering a couple of things.

[He pauses and glances off screen, frowning as he makes a grab for something and pops back up a moment later holding a fat cat who seems quite disgruntled at having been caught.]

Okay, first, is there anyone here who knows me? Just... y'know, out of curiosity. And second, even if no one knows me, does anyone wanna be my friend? [He grins, only a touch awkwardly.] I've got Pharaoh here. [He hefts the cat.] So maybe if anyone's got pets, we could have a play date or something!

[He seems pleased with himself for having come up with this idea.]

Pharaoh's been around a crocodile too! What a coincidence! [Grin.]

Judai laughs and shakes his head.]

Nah, I just have a friend who has a crocodile! She's his friend.

[ensconces]

I know a guy who has a crocodile for a friend, too!

[He thinks for a moment before he takes it upon himself to decide:]

They're the same person.

[Judai blinks in absolute wonder.]

Whooooaaa. How d'you know that?? [Apparently he's just gonna believe it, okay.]

How many people do you know who walk around with a girl crocodile?

[Think about it, Judai.]

Hmmm... [GASPS.] Only one! So it must be the same!

[There is so much logic here it almost hurts.]

[ensconces]

[He nods.]

It has to be Mister Jim and Karen!

[If Judai has gotten that wrong, so help him. Though that is technically two people.]

[Judai lets out a bark of laughter.]

That's exactly it! Jim's a friend of mine from school! And Karen is too! [Grins.]

[ensconces]

[Oh good! He smiles in return.]

Oh, you went to that school with the card thingies? He told me about that sort of school. He's a champion.

[Though he doesn't understand so much.]

Hehe. That's right! It's Duel Monsters, and Jim really is a good duelist. [Nod nod.]

...hey, by the way... I don't think I caught your name!

[ensconces]

The game has to be really difficult if there are schools for it. But I guess there are schools for a lot of different things! Jim hasn't really told me much about it, though, but we are kind of livin' together.

[He pauses.]

M'name is Oliver! I don't play your game, though.

[kuriboh_boy]

It's not that hard! [Only because you've played it your whole life, Judai, omfg.]

Ah! Oliver. Nice to meetcha. [Grins.] Hey, that's pretty cool that you're living with Jim... How'd you meet him?

[ensconces]

[Shut up, Judai.] Well, you said you went to school so I guess that it would be easier for you!

And, uh, I met him when I got here! He was just sittin' with Karen and I talked to him.

[Not worrying about stranger danger or anything.]

Yeah, but I've been playing since I was a kid. [...yeah, you weren't that great back then, dummy.]

Well! Seems like you were meant to be friends with Jim. [He grins wide.] Which means you were meant to be friends with me too!

[ensconces]

I never played at all. [And he certainly isn't going to go school for it in a place like this.]

'Meant to be friends?' What does that mean?

[kuriboh_boy]

Heheh. I can teach you sometime if you want! [He's got a spare deck, after all.]

Ah... I guess what I mean is... we were fated to meet each other! And be friends. [Grin.] Isn't that cool to think about?

[ensconces]

You'd actually teach me? [Judai gets bonus cool points.]

Ohh, I get it! I guess I don't want to think that somethin' in my life is already decided, though. That means you can't change it.

[kuriboh_boy]

Of course! I like getting to know people through dueling. It's the best way to do it.

[He pauses for a long moment to think about that.]

Hmmm... You've got a point there. [With a laugh, he shrugs.] I dunno! It's just this feeling I've got that we were supposed to be friends.

[ensconces]

There are other things you can learn people by.

[Because he is definitely not a duelist thingy.]

But, okay, we can be friends!

[kuriboh_boy]

[Judai laughs and scratches his cheek.]

I guess you're right. I'll just have to get to know you a different way! [He grins.] You'll be the first friend I've made without dueling involved!

[ensconces]

You'll be my first friend who...

[Um. Think.]

...dresses like that!

[kuriboh_boy]

[Well, that wasn't quite the response Judai was expecting, but he laughs after a moment.]

Honestly, I think I'm the only one who dresses like this outside of school! [Grin.]
