Woah, did I miss something? The last time I got stuck here, I wasn't expected to pay for things.

What's up with that? You can't just kidnap someone and then expect them to get a job in some freaky fantasy land. That's...that's...[She's really trying to search for the right word here.] really rude!

[She sighs feeling obviously defeated. What else is she going to do?]

I don't suppose anyone is in the market for a lab assistant...or maybe someone with computer hacking skills?

[She makes a sheepish expression.]

Oh my god, this is exactly what I was saying. I seriously think they should just suck it up if people're upset about us being here.

Is that why they are making us get jobs? The natives are upset?

Well geez seems like it would make more sense not to bring us here at all. Especially if the natives don't want us here.

Last time I was here, there was an idiot looking to lead an attack on one of the districts without any kind of actual plan. So I can't say I'd be surprise if a riot ended up breaking out.

[The lazy comment just makes her laugh, because she knows the feeling.]

I don't really pay attention to much in general. Too much thinking.

Not really. But sometimes in situations like this it's a bit too much to keep up. Especially like timing and stuff.

I guess. Have you been in a lot of these kinds of situations then?

How good are you in Chemistry and Molecular Science?

I've only taken basic Chemistry and I never touched Molecular Science. But I was a lab assistant for an astrophysicist. So I can still do busy work. Helping with research and setting up equipment and things like that.

I have a proposal for you. For the past two months I've had this laboratory which now needs tending since I am busy handling my new establishment.

I hope you don't have a weak stomach. Since you'll be handling a lot of blood.

Well the sight of blood doesn't make me queasy or anything. But I do gotta ask where the blood comes from. Like if we're talking a blood bank type scenario here. I can handle that. I'm pretty laid back about a lot of things, but I seriously don't want to think I might be a secondary party to something criminal.

[He simply chuckles] It's a different kind of blood bank, but I assure you, I have Tronctor and Queenie's approval.

Yeah, I found one. A little on the pricey side but as cheap as I could find in this district.

Prior to the financial situation that was brought to our attention by Queenie, I've had the blood laboratory running.

Unfortunately, flats here in Crystalden are quite pricey. Paying for my current living situation is not easy at all. But elegance, security and technology has a price. Rest assured, you shall be paid more than enough to ensure a comfortable lifestyle in Crystalden.

[She gives a nod because that's true. Gotta pay if you want quality.]

Sounds good, my job back home didn't pay much at all, but I got to do a lot of free traveling which was cool.

Unfortunately this job does not require you to travel much, except when collections have to be done in different districts.

That's okay, I somehow doubt going from district to district can really compare to the kind of traveling I did anyway. So no biggie.

If you don't mind me asking, how far have you traveled?

Well I'm originally from Virginia, but because of my internship, I've gotten to travel to New Mexico, England and Norway. Before I got here, I was in New York with my boss.
