003 | Accidental Video/open for action in Orlea

[The video clips on suddenly, the result of her device hitting the ground, which was quickly followed by Terra herself hitting the street. She looks... unwell, occasionally glowing for just a moment. Something is... interfering with her, with her magic. Her own magic is different, of course, than the magic here, but what even Terra doesn't know is that she is partly a creature of pure magic. And the current incompatibility is literally tearing her apart.]

It... hurts...

I felt... powerful. Like I was drawing on some part of myself that I didn't even know was there.

I see. . .

[Victor folds and unfolds his hands as he thinks.]

I guess it's a part of you that hasn't been -- unlocked, until now? Or, at least, not unlocked here. . . The symptoms just came on without warning?

[Terra pulled her knees up and wrapped her arms around them.]

I'd been feeling... bad, all day. But it wasn't until just then that it really started to hurt. Thought a walk would clear my head.

[She shakes her head.]

Just wish I knew what it all meant.

Ah. I have a little experience with walks meant to clear your head having -- different results.

[He shakes his head as well.]

I wish I did too. Seeing you transform like that was -- disconcerting, to say the least.

[A sigh.]

I'm sorry if I frightened you.

[Victor tries a reassuring smile.]

It's fine. It's not exactly like you could help it. And really, I'm a born worrier, so. . .

[Terra offers a small smile in return.]

Either way, your coming to help means a lot.

Well, like I said, I couldn't just leave you like that. . .

[He glances around.]

Is there a-anything I can get you, or. . . ?

[He says, knowing darn well he hasn't a clue where anything is.]

There's a pitcher of water in the icebox.

[She pointed towards what was, technically, a refrigerator. But Terra's world is a weird, hodgepodge of industrial revolution, higher technology, and magic technology. Icebox is the best term she knows.]

Could you bring me a glass of it?

[Which works out perfectly, because icebox is exactly the word Victor uses for it! He's back from the actual Industrial Revolution, where they had literal ice boxes. He knows the ones here work by a different means, but icebox is the word he knows, so. . .]

Of course.

[He heads over to the ice box and finds the pitcher, then locates a glass and fills it. After putting away the pitcher, he brings it over to her.]

[Terra greedily and gratefully gulps down the water, not even pausing to breathe as she downed it.]

Thank you. I needed that.

[Wow. Victor watches with a mildly surprised expression, then can't help a slight chuckle.]

Yes, I can see. Feeling a little better now?

Much, thank you.

[Victor smiles.]

I'm glad. Anything else I can do?

[Terra shakes her head.]

I don't think so. I think I'm just going to try and rest now.

Probably the best thing you could do.

Do you want me to stay in case it happens again, or. . . ?

[He's not entirely sure how much help he would be, but he feels it's only right to make the offer.]

[A small smile plays across her lips, touched by the offer.]

I appreciate it, Victor. But I think I'll be fine. I'm feeling much better now.

All right. I'm glad you're feeling better. And I suppose you know how to contact me if you do need help.

I do. And I will, if I need any more help.
