004 〖 ♍ ♑〗 video
[The feed opens up slightly shaky, obviously being held by someone quite upset. There’s some hushed muttering as the camera focuses on the front door of a small residence in Orlea. Bright green spray paint is scrawled across the door and windows and siding, spelling out hateful messages such as ‘ALIEN FREAKS’ and ‘GET OUT.’
Porrim, from behind the camera, sighs, and then calls out towards the house:]
Kurloz? You might want to see this...
[From the doorway you can hear footsteps, hurried due to the pitch in her voice. He comes down the stairs and is by her side still out of shot. No sound is made, something that wouldn’t be unusual with the mime, however it’s like the world just stopped. Slowly he steps forward into the view and touches the paint lightly—it was fresh. He looks back at Porrim, face blank and expressionless, the only real way to make a mime speechless
Porrim turns the camera of her phone toward her own face, and it’s like a storm cloud has passed over her normally serene expression; her brows are drawn downward and there’s a toothy scowl on her mouth. But when she speaks, there’s not just anger but a hint of sadness. Who would do something like this...?]
It seems like our neighbors aren’t too happy that we’ve invaded the neighborhood. Too bad we can’t get back in our SPACESHIP— [She raises her voice and shouts that word toward the neighboring houses, before taking a deep, calming breath]—and fly away home. Is anyone else having problems like this?
[[ooc: replies will be coming from both Porrim and Kurloz (

I had thought so, as well. We haven't had any conflicts with our neighbors. I don't think I've even met all of them...
Some people are just like that, I'm afraid. Wiling to condemn anyone different from themselves on the slightest pretext. . . Too caught up in fear to actually see if someone's dangerous or not. . .
Forgive me, I should introduce myself. Victor Van Dort. Your roommate knows me a bit -- we met shortly after I arrived. One of the first to tell me what was going on, in fact.
[He then waves his hand a little in an "eeehhh...kinda sorta, way." They were dangerous, more dangerous than you can imagine, Victor. But they chose not to hurt them...though he may reconsider this fact if they pursue on this route. And with that thought he stares/glares off into space.]
As for the "kinda-sorta" hand waggle. . . Victor considers it for a moment. One could say that about his dead friends too, perhaps. They did drag a man off to, if not eternal torment, then at least a good few months of whatever pain they could inflict on him. On the other hand, said man was an unrepentant murderer and all-around arse, so. . .]
If you weren't hurting anyone, why not just leave you alone? If it's obvious all you wish to do is live your own lives in peace. . .
I'm sure he'd have told me about you, but he's not quite the talkative type.
[Despite being upset still, she laughs softly at the other troll's response. They could be dangerous, sure, though he is probably more apt to be violent than Porrim, who tends toward motherly or flirtatious, depending. She shrugs.]
Your guess is as good as mine. I've been here more than two months now, and there's been no trouble at all.
Okay, he's confusing himself. Bottom line, not any of his business. Moving on. He chuckles at Porrim's joke, then shrugs back.]
I don't know what to tell you, then. You'd think something like this would have started right away. . .then again, people can be pretty fickle about what they accept one day and don't accept another sometimes.
[Hello old bitterness toward his hometown! Haven't seen you in a bit!]
[But it suites them perfectly.]
[He nuzzles into her a little, taking in her scent and just being sappy really after she leans into his embrace. He obviously does care about her a lot. And he would absolutely destroy anybody (here) that would dare to hurt her, or threaten her.]
[Kurloz has to nod solemnly at Victors words, he knew that too well.]
And the protective instinct? If Alice were here, Victor would likely be feeling the same way about her. Even now he can't help but worry about her -- yes, she's capable of taking care of herself, but. . .well, being in love means worrying sometimes.
He sighs.]
Hopefully it's not all of them. Just a very vocal -- so to speak -- minority. After all, if you've had no problems beforehand. . .
I do hope you're right, Victor.
[And then, she realizes that she's completely forgotten to introduce herself.]
Oh! I'm so sorry, I haven't even told you my name. I'm Porrim Maryam, and it's really nice to meet you. [She waves a long-fingered, sharp-clawed hand in a distracted manner.] I'm just so...thrown-off, I suppose, by all this.
[He gives her a small smile.]
It's all right. You're certainly allowed to be distracted, given the -- circumstances. It's nice to meet you as well, Porrim. I just wish it could have been for a more pleasant reason.
We can fix that. You're certainly welcome to come over sometime to visit. I could try to make human dinner, even.
Re: [Video]
[But he looked forward to the possibility of Victor coming over. He'd like that, before he forwent such things because he was living in a grave yard and didn't have much to offer.
I think I'd like that. Though if dinner's a problem, I could bring my own food. I've got plenty of sandwich materials in my icebox.
[Yeah, guess what he's kind of been living on. Those, muffins and bagels, and a whole host of snack foods. At least he's not that picky about what he eats.]
[She reaches behind her to pat Kurloz on the cheek.] Plus, as much as I enjoy this guy's company, he's not quite a conversationalist. [Her expression and voice are fond, teasing.]
[He chuckles a little himself.]
Well, I don't know how much of an improvement I'll be, but I'll try my best. . .
[He rolled his eyes at Porrim's words, thinking how much of an understatement that is. She literally mothers everybody; she'd probably even mother a super villain. But the movement isn't very noticeable, mostly because his pupils couldn’t be seen and so all you could see was his eyebrows move up and down again.]
[When she pats his cheek he looks over at her, and then he smirks a little. Although he's not a conversationalist he's rather vocal about his feelings, at least in certain places.]
[Suddenly he perks up and grins at Victor’s answer, happy to have a friend over and their house...his house... That doesn't happen often.]
[She can feel Kurloz perking up behind her at the idea, and it warms her pump-biscuit to know that her suggestion is something he's into, as well.]
I think our house can use all the good vibes it can get.
He grins at the both of them. Yeah, it could. . .and he's already getting some good vibes now. It's still a bit of a new experience to have people around whom he can call 'friends,' but it's a nice one too.]
We'll have to set a date then.
[Though it's not like he has anything else going on at the moment.]
[VIDEO] And that happy icon is hypnotizing me...
[...What's all that? he's talking about grub sauce silly! Every troll who's still growing knows that much. It helps lead them into a healthy Adult Molt! Sheesh...]
[He grins back, also glad. He's had friends luckily while growing up, but both of them where rather far away. Most of their communication had been over the net, something that hadn't changed after his incident.]
[Kurloz looks to Porrim for this one, she was the one cooking. She could invite him over now or on a different day, but who knew what would happen between now and then.]
[VIDEO] LOL -- it's a DW-friendly version of a tumblr gif I liked
Victor's friends have mainly consisted of his dog Scraps, long deceased, those he met in the Land of the Dead, whom it'll be a while before he sees again, and Alice, currently back home. He's happy to make new ones here, though. It helps him cope with being in a strange world, away from the one he loves the most (and in a district that occasionally seems to like taunting him with that knowledge).
He also looks to Porrim -- she's the hostess, it's her pleasure to name the day.]
I'm pretty much free any time you could think of.

How about tomorrow evening? That gives us a chance to take care of this mess— [She gestures behind her at the mess of paint across the front of their house] —and do some tidying up beforehand.
That works fine for me. You'll just have to let me know which house number -- er, if you have one -- I'm looking for.
[He's rather unfamiliar with the other districts, and while he's sure he can find his way over there, knowing exactly where to go is always a good thing.]
Re: [Video]
[They'll take care of the paint soon enough, he had a lot left over from what he did in his room (which he wasn't finished with) and was sure he could spare some. Though if he finds out whom exactly did it he was planning on taking some kind of revenge. Usually murder came to mind, however this time he'll probably just graffiti back. Why not? Painting is fun.]
Perfect. If you'd like to turn up around 5, that will give me time to get everything ready.
Thank you, that's perfect.
[He gives Porrim a nod.]
Five o'clock tomorrow afternoon then. Sounds wonderful.
