[ So this may be a familiar face to a few - one that's been here since most everyone else has shown up. But why hasn't she made an appearance on the network before now? Because she was ~exploring~ and not really paying that much attention to the network, oops. She's finally deciding to do something on the network though - part of her exploring was trying to find people that she knew, but it seems as if she kept just missing them.

Quite literally the story of her life, though, so she's hoping to draw them out of hiding. ]

Hey everyone. It's been a pretty strange month, hasn't it?

[ Despite that, she can't keep from smiling. ]

But everyone's found their friends by now, right? And if you haven't... well, they might come along eventually! Just believe in them, and it'll happen.

[ And no one can tell her otherwise, okok. ]

I'm actually really curious what kind of places people have come from, though. I've heard little things here and there, unfamiliar terms and strange clothing... and it seems all really interesting. So tell me some of your stories!

[ There's a curious tilt of Kairi's head, and she frowns just a little, but it doesn't last for long. ]

I guess it's just average life for you, huh?

Pretty much, yep.

[She smiled, then fumbles with the phone a bit; pay no attention to the scar around her neck.]

[ Oh, she'll pay attention... but she won't say anything. There's no point in really prodding when she barely knows the other girl. ]

Well... I'm Kairi. It's nice to meet you.

I'm Seiko Shinohara. Nice to meet you too. None of my friends are here yet, but like you said, they'll turn up.

[Though she's secretly hoping they don't.]

So, you look about my age. You go to school?

Without a doubt, Seiko. And it's nice to meet you, too.

[ At the question, Kairi nods. ]

Yeah, I turned sixteen while I was here, actually.

Woah. So you're practically a native... I popped up about a month ago, kind of like most people here.

Well... that's just it! My birthday was around the time that I showed up here with just about everyone else, but I was off exploring, so I didn't bother making a big deal out of it. I mean, I'm only just sixteen, right? I'll have plenty of other birthdays.

[Pharos isn't very good with vague questions.]

Stories like what?

Things that you've done, or places that you've been to! Or maybe some powers that you or people you know have. Anything at all, really.

[Well, he'll pick a person then.] I have a friend at home named Minako. She's not here right now, though.

Oh? What's she like?

She's very nice, and quite dear to me.

[ Well, she's not being given very much, is she? But it's fine, she can manage. ]

Is she like a sister, or just a really good friend? Though I guess, either way it doesn't matter, so long as you hold her close to your heart.

[Yea, it's hard to get information out of Pharos if you don't ask the right questions.]

A good friend, I suppose. [It's a little more complicated than that. But Kairi's wording confuses him.] Hold her close to my heart...?

Mmhm! [ She pauses, then thinks of a better way to explain that. ]

It's like... You really care about a person, so you think about them a lot, right? You think about how they're doing if they're away, or think of fond memories with that person. That's you keeping them close! Even if they're not physically with you, just keeping them in mind is enough.

[oh!! that makes more sense.] Is that a good thing, if I do that?

[ And the great thing is, Kairi doesn't find this strange in the least - and even if she does, it's not like it's any real big deal that he doesn't know. ]

Of course it is! And because of it, no matter where you are, they're always with you.

[...He's pretty sure she's not always with him- if anything, it's the other way around, but this girl seems very certain about it.]

Alright. I will then.

I'm glad.

[ There's a pause, and a bigger smile. ]

It works for new friends, too. Every person you meet... their hearts are connected to yours, and yours to theirs.

[oh right. He actually has some of those now. It's kind of strange.]

Anzu likes the chipper spirit from the girl, and will gladly take part in this conversation. Have a big smile.]

The only thing that's interesting from my world seems to be a card game called Duel Monsters. My friends are really into it. I play some, but I'm not as good as they are.

Duel Monsters? I've heard of that! Someone named Jesse Anderson was telling me about it! Do you know him?

Oh wow! You know what that is?

[She thinks for a moment, trying to jog her memory.]

Hmmmm. I don't think I recognize that name. Maybe one of my friend's knows who that is. If you've heard of Duel Monsters, then you've had to have heard of Yugi Muto. He's my best friend.

Yuugi... Mutou? Hm, I don't think I have, actually. Is he here? I might end up meeting him if he is.

Yeah, of course he's here. He's in Crystalden.

Ah, that's a little far, isn't it?

[ She laughs and shakes her head. ]

I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out for him, won't I?

[Yes, it was a bit far. But that wasn't going to keep her down. Soon they would be able to hang out like they had planned-one way or another. Her mind went back to the old days, when she would just walk to the end of the block and Yugi's house would be right there. They could hang out whenever they wanted. But being in New York changed that...

Wait, keep an eye out for him? Does this mean--]

Why, are you in Crystalden too?

Ah, no! I'm in Orlea. But if he uses the network, then I'm bound to see him around, aren't I?

Well, of course you'll see him. [After all, he's not hard to miss. teehee~]

What's Orlea like?

Verily, tis been a wild and strange month. Though I believe I have taken it in stride. The nature of this scroll still baffles me to no end. . .
As for friends, though, I've little back home who would miss me dearly.

[He chuckles a bit dryly.]

Ah, and as for a story, I could regale you with my battle with the fearsome golem that earned me this armor and arms.
[There's a sense of pride in his voice.]
Tis a noble story, and far better to hear it from the source than through some bard.

[ She... has never heard anyone speak like that. Xemnas comes close, but it's not nearly as... elegant as this. ]

It must be so strange for you to be in a place like this... But you really don't have many friends from home? [ A pause as she grins. ] At the very least, you're making some, aren't you?

[ And ooh, she actually seems really interested in hearing about this. ]

I'd love to hear your story, sir.

Aye, tis been a trial to adapt to such a strange land such as this, but I am a resilient soul.
As for friends, well, I've been making the effort to. Strength in numbers, as the saying goes. Pray, mayhaps we shall be friends as well?

[He smiles a bit under his helmet]

My story is one of valor and trihumph. In my hometown of Zena, there were many guilds, with trades of all sort. I had joined the warriors guild there at a young age, not for glory but to improve myself, and to earn funds for my family back home. I trained with this mighty sword, constantly pushing my limits.

[He holds out his greatsword in one hand]

One day, though, t'was a massive skirmish within the confines of the city. The guards were routed, and we were called to assist in the matter. To our surprise, a massive golem of metal and magic, likely the product of a foolish mage, was tearing the town asunder, the axe it wielded rending the very air itself! While many of my fellow warriors faltered, I charged forge, sword in hand. With many a mighty blow to the constructs knees, I threw it off balance. I could see a hole in it's chest, a stone glowing brilliantly within. Seizing the chance, I leapt forth and plunged my blade into it's chest, bringing it down.

[He smiles, looking to the side a bit, fondly recalling the battle as if it were yesterday]

To reward my bravery, I was given a hefty sum of gold to spend as I saw fit. With it, I bought a set of this Black Iron armor you see, and an accompanying shield. My pockets still gilded, I sent most of the money home to aid my family.
Some may say I embellish the truth, but 'tis plain truth that I felled the beast so easily.

[Tifa's smiling as usual. She's glad someone is bright as well. Not to mention the civilization here isn't too social. .

Tifa is one to keep stories to herself, so she'll keep it short.]

Well, there is a lot of monsters to fight where I'm from. And we use materia--objects that grant us magic. It seems like the other worlds don't have materia.

It seems like magic is a common thing, huh? We use-- well, my friends use it, but I haven't learned any yet. Firaga, Thundaga, Curaga... things like that.

[ Kairi is totally interested in this, because ever since she's known that people can use it, she's always kind of wanted to learn, too. ]

Hey! Those are actually the spells that are in the materia! Are our worlds. . connected perhaps? {ooc: no pun intended lulz.}

I have a friend who is crazy about them. [She's talking about that ninja back on her planet. She always did love stealing materia.]

Oh, were you interested in learning magic? If I had any materia with me, you could use it easily.

Well, I never really had the time to learn, but I wouldn't mind it.

[ Kairi smiles and gives a little nod. ]

And I'm sure our worlds are connected. Every world is connected somehow.

I'm sure you would like it! I have a friend whose quite the thief when it comes to stealing them.

[Tifa giggles. Her self-proclaiming "champion" of a friend she is talking about. Tifa gives a warm smile back as well.]

What's your name?

I bet it takes a lot of work to figure it out though, huh?

[ The giggle and smile has Kairi smiling a little more, because she's so glad to see such a happy, kind woman. ]

I'm Kairi.

[Have a familiar face filling your video screen, Kairi; Jesse has a kind and sympathetic smile for you, as usual.] Any luck findin' your pals?

[ Kairi smiles brightly as she sees Jesse's face, though-- the question has her frowning a little, but she brushes it aside. No point in moping. ]

I know they're here, but it seems like I just keep missing them everywhere I go. [ A pause, and time to get the focus off of her. ] What about you?

[He hesitates for a second, his gaze trailing somewhere off screen, and it's clear there's something troubling him.]

Actually... yeah. Yeah, I did find someone. [Give you one guess who, judging by his tone alone.]

[ The fact that he has that expression, has that tone even though he's saying he's found a friend... That's got her wondering a bit. Her own smile fades as she focuses more on him. ]

... But there's something wrong? [ But wait, there's only one person that he's ever sounded like that about and it's-- ] It's him, isn't it? Then that's great news!

[He manages to smile a little bit, glad that Kairi's so quick on the uptake that she already knows who he's talking about.]

Yeah, it's him. And I'm mighty glad to see him, I am, it's just. He's... different.

[Jesse shakes his head. This feels wrong.] Say, can we meet up someplace?

[ Kairi definitely looks worried about that, but she nods and offers him a bright smile a moment afterward anyway. ]

Of course we can. Where's convenient for you?

Hm... How's about some ice cream? [Never underestimate the prowess of comfort in the form of frozen treats.]

[ ... It's like he's a mind-reader or something. Her smile brightens and she nods. ]

Sounds great! I'll meet you at the shop, okay?
