[The man on the feed is looking distinctly pleased with himself as he stares into the camera, a strange glint in his one visible eye and a vulpine smile playing on his lips. Eagle-eyed viewers might notice that the poster behind him appears to have been put up the wrong way round- until they realize that his scarf probably shouldn’t be sticking straight up in the air and, in actual fact, he’s the thing that’s upside-down, not the world around him.

The Ninja is perched on the ceiling of an underpass in both a boast and a cheerfully shameless “screw you” to gravity. No wonder he seems so smug; he’s showing off.]

Some of you might be content to sit around and wait for something to happen but that’s not really my style. [chuckles softly] I’d rather stay sharp and be ready for the storm to hit when it inevitably does. In the meantime, my services are available to anyone who needs them.

[It's been a few months since he was active as a shinobi before a law enforcer and, whilst it hasn't dulled his skills any, even he's surprised by how eager he is to return to that life. Trying to fit back into the role of a peacekeeper and policeman without Soldier somehow feels wrong- or maybe it's just that he doesn't quite trust himself to play nice without his influence keeping him in line.

The Ninja pauses briefly before putting his head to one side, smile broadening to a challenging grin.]

... if any of you can keep up with me, I might just be impressed.

[ooc: Additional action option! The Ninja’s going to be following people around all day ~~out of curiosity~~ for practice so if your character’s in Orlea they might find themselves with a ninja stalker.]

[Of that barrage of blows, the first two or so catch his neck and the back of his head- but that's all the warning he needs to pick up the pace and start moving and he's taken worse hits before. The Ninja dodges the rest of the hits but, whilst most of them haven't connected, they've at least served the purpose of distracting him long enough that he fails to take note of the ribbon.

The ribbon cracks in the air- but whilst he hasn't realised that the rose is a trap in itself, he has noticed that she's aiming for it and back-flips just out of reach.

So, she's trying to knock it off his shirt, is she?] And here I was thinking you were a lady... playing dirty doesn't suit you. [He scoops up his scarf again. Maybe it's time to pull out some of those jutsu he's so famous for.]

Tch.

[Kodachi can't help but cringe at his evasion, but once he questions her methods, the gymnast can't help but smile.]

You wound me, Sir Ninja. How does one 'fight dirty' when the terms are 'any means necessary'?

[With that she dashes forward once more, but this time performs a double whip crack- She hopes to trick him into backflipping again in which the second swing would allow her to wrap his ankle mid-flip.]

[This time he doesn't try and dodge. He has to be still for this and if that means pushing it to the very last possible moment, he's willing to take that chance- and when it arrives, he seizes it with both hands. The Ninja throws out his scarf again- only this time, he's not aiming for her but at the ground she's about to step onto.] Movement at Will Jutsu-!

[And suddenly Kodachi finds herself stepping into a neck-high pool of water where his scarf once was.]

[Kodachi has no idea what The Ninja is up to, but so long as she's faster it doesn't matter, right?

Unfortunately it's more of a matter of not being prepared; there's no way she could have predicted him creating a pool of water out of thin air! The yelp of surprise once she splashes might even be a bit satisfying!]

Wha- What?? Y- You can't do that; this is impossible!

[Oh, it's definitely cathartic alright. The Ninja stands back for a few moments, head on one side as he admires his handiwork before evidently deciding that he needs a better view. He kneels down in front of her, grinning.]

Well, I'm just good at making the impossible reality. [chuckles] How about we call it a win for me, Miss Kuno?

[This close, she can't quite grab the rose but she could certainly graze it...]

[This is really embarrassing, and even Kodachi can't keep a playful expression in this situation. Her lips draw to a frown.]

Come closer and say that, you sneak!

[But as luck would have it; it seems The Ninja's overconfidence really was going to be his downfall- she had one good chance if she could just reach! Kodachi draws in a short breath, then lashes one arm out from the water; a graze would be just enough to agitate a petal and result in the entire rose to release a burst of her paralysis powder!]
