[ okay so Alibaba has kind of understood the slightly vague rundown that he was given about this place and the strange thing he was given, so sincerest apologies when the video feed shows nothing but his shoes and sounds of him being frustrated. he turns it a few times in his hands and the camera flips flops all over the place. ]
How do you work this thing? [ insert smacking noises from Alibaba ignorantly smacking it unaware that it has been own and recording the entire time. ]
Hello. Are you in need of assistance?
[ this is the part where edi plays the helpful, mobile vi to gain information and details of what's unknown to her — it's easier that way, with little questions to be asked about her because the time is not right yet. this is not messing around.
.... just a little. ]
Well actua-
[ the camera pans up, unknowingly to Alibaba, to a robotic torso revealing the lower half of their face to the "collar bone" as soon as he hears a voice speaking to him. there's a rather extended pause as Alibaba tries to figure out to respond to what he's seeing.
Though during the silence the camera slowly drops to settle on the robot's chest...or rather, breasts. ]
Question incomplete. Please finish your statement so that I may assist with optimum capacity.
[ the thing is: edi knows what's wrong. of course she does, she can think for herself — and she thinks this is reminiscent of her visit to the citadel. that's why she reaches out to take the camera herself. ]
You are having trouble with the device itself?
[ apologies, EDI but he isn't going to be able to respond properly and just lets her take the camera/his device from him. he has quite a dumb look on his face - which can't be seen by the camera. pity. ]
[ that has been remedied: edi moves the camera to point towards his face. ]
This man is in a state of shock. Identity necessary to continue, please reply ASAP. Recommendation: Shaking until he gains his senses back.

Hey, are you okay? [ Her voice reverberates with small, mirth induced tremors, but with any luck, that kind of thing won't be too conspicuous. Especially as the blonde teenager seems to be . . . somewhat occupied. ]

There is no response. Would you like to try again?

no subject
yeah. wow. his brain really isn't able to keep up with everything he's seeing. ]
no subject
Hello? Did you get hit by a paralysis spell or something?
no subject
...though spells like that sound kind of cool and he knows a few people that would be interested in such things. ]
no subject
I guess you can't do anything if enemies are already locked onto you. Though if you're lucky, it'll wear off before your HP gets completely depleted.
Good luck, anyway.

What happened to him?
[Primo is so helpful. No, this not him trolling. Okay, he is, but it's still a good suggestion.]
All else fails, some directions to know where you are so we can shake him would be appreciated.
no subject
However, shaking him to make him focus is a priority option.
[ she puts the camera aside, though it's still facing her and alibaba. this is the part where she shakes him gently, one hand on his right shoulder and all. edi even goes eye-to-eye level with the man, as though inspecting him. ]
Excuse me. What is your name?
no subject
And performing a body check wasn't violence either.
[Pout! Except not really.]
Well since violence is a no, how about getting him somewhere to drink a warm tea? That may help him get relaxed and out of shock.
no subject
W, woah. [ blink blink ] Hey! What do you think you're telling her to do?
no subject
[And he's not ashamed by any of it, in fact he seems quite amused.]
But it seems she has better judgment than that, good for you, eh?
no subject
It is in my programming to have a higher degree of practicality in comparison to other VI's.
no subject
Maah, I guess you're right. Shaking him was the most practical solution. Of course you could have also just ignore him and leave him be, the shock would eventually pass on its own and no brain neurons would have died then.

What do you recommend?

[League logic putting in work.]

he doesn't mean to be rude, honest. ]

Oh.]
What're you looking at, squirt?

Don't give her weird ideas.
[Pardon this one - he's actually vastly more interested in the robot lady than her dumbfounded "friend".]
What is your manufacturer and model number, if you don't mind my asking?
no subject
Incorrect. I am a VI installed in this unit.
no subject
Oh, I see. [That did seem like a rather human gesture, the way she interacted with the person and his device, even with her manner of speech... but regardless, he's fooled easily enough with her "correction". For now. That won't stop him from being vastly intrigued, though.] Hm. VI... Virtual Intelligence? Virtual Interface?
[Considering the district he's been assigned to - and given the technological advancements of his own city - he's not entirely shocked to see something like this. Something that's still beyond his reach due to their own failed and abandoned projects.] Are you integrated into the Crystalden district? I've explored most of the area and have yet to see any other AIs in this model.
