[The screen flicks on to reveal a serious faced young man with hair that has little interest in the laws of gravity and eyes that glow a faint, eerie green. The background behind him appears to be a fuzzy lime green.

Except for the velociraptor sitting at the table wearing a top hat and monocle and delicately sipping tea from a very fragile looking cup, one claw carefully extended.

Cloud seems to be ignoring everything but the screen.]

I need a motorcycle. If anyone can help me find one, I'd appreciate it.

So you want to try to outrun the monsters.

[ A click of his tongue. Normally, he'd jab about how that's cowardice compared to combating them directly, but he can't say he entirely dislikes the plan. Better to be a coward in style than to be just a plain coward, huh?

To put it simply, Shadow's bias for motorbikes knows no bounds. ]

A motorcycle is a very fine choice. To escape them, however, you'd need a very powerful motor. 1000cc motorcycles may be your best bet. Although...

[ He licks at his lips. That sounds like a hell of a ride. Oh, how he'd kill for one. In fact, if Cloud finds an ample way to obtain one here, he could make use of that information, right? Better get into good cahoots here. ]

[alllllright. The tongue licking over the topic of bikes is a little disturbing. And Cloud's hung out with some disturbing people in the past. Some of whom he even remembers. Still, the information about the type of bike is helpful and for all he knows licking might be the normal kind of thing when it comes to mechanical topics for the... yeah, he still doesn't know what he's talking to. And he's okay with that.

As for escaping the ~~random encounters~~ monsters in the area, he's fine with that. They're more an annoyance than anything ~~and they don't level build~~.]

Yeah. [and he really can't help but ask considering what he's talking to.] ... You ride? [because that would be a bike he'd have to see.]

[ Sadly, that's the least disturbing thing about Shadow. Cloud is going to be enlightened soon enough, surely. For now, though, bikes. Yes, bikes. ~~Just be careful; in some RPGs, they heighten the encounter rate. Get away from those Rattata.~~ ]

Mm, not quite, but I'd like to. [ Shadow strokes his chin curiously. ] If I can find a bike my size. You know...

[ He gives a tiny smirk. ] We should introduce ourselves, should one of us find any dirt. [ He lowers his hand and folds them both over his lap. ]

[Sadly, Cloud's life has been strangely free of hedgehogs, so he's just going to assume that they are all exactly what's in front of him. Whether he remembers it or not, this isn't the first time he's run into talking animals.]

Cloud Strife. [And he's really okay with stopping right there given his lack of conversational skills. Or seeing the need for conversational skills really. Except:]

[ Given that dino enjoying his fresh brew, it is pretty obvious. Shadow gives the slightest chuckle, fingers curled underneath his chin as he leans over, amused. ]

From Astralfield originally or did you get dumped here from whatever world you came from before?

'Dumped' would be an apt term, yes. I was brought here against my will, and my guess is that you went through the same ordeal.

[Technically the king and queen can get in line. Cloud's from a place that he was already kidnapped to with the added bonus of a memory wipe. This just seems like a strange continuation of the theme and there is a part of him that he ignores firmly that wonders how many more times it's going to happen before he can get home. Wherever home is.]

Yeah. It seems to have happened to a lot of us recently. Any idea yet what they really want us for?

[ The expression Shadow bears in that moment is nothing short of solemn and disappointed. The answer he has to give isn't a very good one, natch. ]

Bribery and an offer to help can sound a lot alike. Cloud's not sure he trusts anyone entirely here but a chance at getting to that elusive home he doesn't remember is still a chance. He needs to get back. Even if he doesn't remember why and the Cycles drained a lot of his drive out of him. Besides, even during the Cycles, there was information sharing between the sides. Here it seems even more sensible. So he'll give a short, single nod.]

Hm. I'll let you know if I find anything. Do the same. The sooner we get out of here, the better.

[ Good. He might even be able to save Cloud in the process, but he's not going to go particularly out of his way. Shadow wants to go home at any price, even if it means using this guy and betraying him in the end. Why not? He already did that to Eggman and it almost ended in success.

[Cloud gives a grunt in response and watches the feed die. For a long moment, he simply stares at the empty chalkboard.

Then he marks down the ID number to save for later. Help is help. Something tells him he's had stranger in his forgotten past. When he finds anything, and he will find his answers, he'll share. The sooner they go home, the better.]
