[ Her sister Kasumi wasn't here to do the cooking, so Akane's been going to a tavern most of the time, only occasionally subjecting herself to her own cooking. Depressingly, she's not gotten much better at it. But she's determined to make something edible damnit!
Of course, this means she kind of went a little overboard with the cooking. This left her with way more food than she needed, so she turned her attention to the network for help. ]
Um... Hey everyone, I kind of went a little overboard with cooking and I made -way- too much. If anyone'd like a free meal, I'm setting up a cart outside my house in Highcrest, and you can come at your leisu - .
[ When suddenly the feed is interrupted by a flurry of black rose petals, accompanied by a shrieking laugh.]
Ahahahahah! Aren't you forgetting someone, Akane, dear?
[ Kodachi Kuno is standing beside Akane when the flurry clears, a white apron over her clothes and holding a silver platter with a lid over it.]
I, Kodachi Kuno, have also prepared a feast far too large for anyone to reasonably consume; I'm afraid that when one partakes in fusion cuisine it is bound to happen, don't you agree? Nevertheless, I would be most grateful if anyone could come by and relieve me of my five course meals. And constructive criticism is strongly encouraged~.
[ She bows deeply. Akane, looking rather irritated that Kodachi just barged on in (although this is normal), flicks a black rose petal out of her face. Fckinbubbles rose petals. ]
[ OOC: Fair Warning? Those of you not familiar with Akane's cooking? It's practically toxic so if you don't want your character to suffer, I would pass on Akane's offer. Kodachi's cooking is a lot better but there's a good chance you'll also get paralyzed (and Kodachi will blame Akane for it. :I But on the other hand, CR is FUN. ]

[Toxic food? No big; she can salvage any meal!]
[Action]
He heads to Highcrest without hesitation, though he doesn't know the actual part where they are. Not that it matters, he process to travel around the district by teleporting. Sooner or later, the girls will be greeted by a sudden burst of a swarm of red cicadas that seem to glow and swirl around a spot the amount growing larger and larger before they condense in the form of a person and vanish revealing Primo. He offers the girls a smile.]
I heard something about free meals. Am I still in time?
[Perhaps happy isn't the word, but they do supply food to eat. So Vincent is a little unsure how a free meal is supposed to be a big deal.
On the other hand, there are ladies involved. If not ones who particularly suit his personal taste. Still... ]
Though of course, it isn't all cooked by such lovely young ladies. Perhaps a stroll might be in order just to make your acquaintance...
[Action]
Not that this seems to matter in Primo's case.
Kodachi just so happens to be in the middle of teasing Akane when he arrives, and has just one thing to say about the swarm of glowing cicada's.]
Oh how lovely!
[And to the man the appears from the mess, she greets him, unflinchingly, with a deep bow.]
Good afternoon, Dear customer. You have not only heard correctly, but you're one of the first to arrive. But.. [She raises a hand to her cheek.] I'm starting to get cold feet; I'm uncertain that my delicacies are fit for a man as handsome as yourself.
You are actually being granted a rare opportunity when put in that way, don't you agree?
[Following his compliment, she titters behind her hand.]
Oh you~. But please do, I would be most honored to serve such a charming gentleman.
[Reaction]/[Action]
Oh dear, my device seems to be faulty. Be a dear, Akane?
Re: [Video]
[That's about food. Yup.]
I might be a little late, since I'm not in that area, could I convince your beautiful self to be sure to save me a plate?
no subject
Oh, how kind of you, darlings! May I be so bold as to ask what you've made?
And how, exactly, am I supposed to say 'no' to a request like that, Dear customer?
Do take your time; does the saying not go 'good things come to those who wait'? I will save an especially warm plate for you~.
no subject
Eerk! A small, well-spoken unicorn!
[Action]
When you get to the Highcrest District, follow the main road out of town and you'll come to a small foot path that leads away from the roads. My place is right near there; you'll know it by the duck pond.
[Action]
Please, Kodachi-chan, don't shame your work like that. Why I'm perfectly sure that the one who isn't fit for your delicacies is this lowly self. It would certainly be a big honour if you would allow me to taste even a bite of what you have prepared.
[He bows courteously and if she will allow it he will take one of her hands and place the ghost of a polite kiss on it.]
But first, allow me to introduce myself. It's improper for a gentleman to make acquaintances with such a beautiful lady and not offer his name, after all. My name's Primo, and I'm greatly honoured to meet a lady with such a generous spirit and such a lovely face.
I presume you speak of my hair? Well.. You certainly have good taste, don't you?
[Still adjusting]
Let's see.. You would primarily be interested in vegetarian dishes, correct?
[Action]
It is a pleasure to meet such a humble man, Primo-san. And such a flatterer! I think we will have much to discuss.
[She then gestures to the side.]
Speaking of flatter.... y, the young lady to my left is Akane Tendo. She's prepared a unique meal of her own, if you would like to take a look.
[Action]
He smiles, bowing at Akane as well, his smile slightly warmer for the girl he already knows and who helped him set those boards at the beginning of the month.]
Ah, yes. Akane and me already had the chance to make acquaintances. It's good to see you doing well.
[After that he sighs, in clear distress.]
This poses a serious problem though. Two ladies and two lovely prepared meals, forgive me to say this, but you both are being very cruel with this poor man's stomach. How could I choose just one meal without being able to taste the other?
[Besides his stomach is big enough for anything that is thrown at himself, mostly because he doesn't need it for starters.]
[Action]
Good to see you too, Primo-san.
[ And there is where the pleasant smile ends briefly, replaced with a tighter one. ]
Oh you can help yourself to her food, I don't mind.
[Action]
Oh dear, I actually hadn't thought that far ahead.. Ah, I know! You could sample both! I will have to provide a smaller portion so you don't get too full, of course.
[She stands behind the cart she creatively acquired, and proceeds to set up a combination. The first that is placed upon the counter is soup served in a small, black dish. It isn't laced with anything.]
The starter is miso soup, however it is flavored with silverfish dashi; also I've yet to find a proper substitute for tofu. Still, this makes the broth just a touch spicier than what you may be used to. Assuming you are from our time, of course~.
[Action] sorry for the late!
He turns to Kodachi with a delighted and slightly surprised smile.]
What a delicious idea, Kodachi-chan! Now I won't be forced to ignore the hard work any of you have put in this food, nor to have ruined the meal I would actually eat. I don't think I could have truly enjoyed anything while knowing that a lady's work wasn't being appreciated.
[He is really happy to not have to choose, both in each of their ways, Akane and Kodachi are appealing and interesting to him. He would certainly like to count them as acquaintances and having to choose one over the other right at the start would have made it difficult. Sure, he could have just teleported away without choosing, but it would have made his trip pointless.
Primo approaches the counter curiously, observing the dish and sniffing at it.]
Aaah, Kodachi-chan sure has a creative mind, it truly smells deliciously. Honestly, it has been so long since I had a decent miso soup that I don't remember how spicy the broth was in the ones I used to have.
[No, really, he can barely remember the miso soup his mother used to do. Whatever they say, miso soup with animal eyes on it for flavour isn't a real miso soup.]
[Action] No problem! :D
Here, you can have some tea to go with it.
[Action] That icon. XD XD XD
Kodachi can't help but titter behind her hand again as Primo goes into such a dramatic flair, and she's just eating it up- Frankly she doesn't see the similarity to Kuno at all! Which is good because that'd be gross.]
Oh goodness! Please don't flatter me too much before trying, you're putting too much pressure on a girl!
[And she looks to Akane's tea. She'll withhold comment for the time being.]
[Action] Akane makes the best faces
[As he actually tries the miso soup part of him wishes he could be human for a little bit. There are so many things that changed with his transformation and he has spent so much time eating nothing but demon food or not eating at all that he sometimes doubts if his taste buds still work. Or if his tastes in general are still good. It always makes him feel that he's not enjoying food as much as he should even when it's something delicious.
For now he enjoys the miso soup, finding it good and not missing the presence of tofu in it at all. His attention is drifted when Akane offers him a tea though, which he accepts with a smile.]
Thank you, Akane.
[He takes a sip and...
...
...
...
...
Well, that's different. Is that a touch of vinegar which he notices? Who puts vinegar on tea? He's sure there's a bit of lemon juice too, he can fee the acid taste in the back of his tongue. There's only on e word to describe this new creation.]
Delicious.
[No, he's not forcing it, the compliment comes out honestly and with some pleased surprise. Sure, if a human drank this they probably would end on the ground dying, but for someone used to drink worse things the tastes are charming. The only problem is that it doesn't go very well with the miso soup, but that's a minor issue.]
Though I would suggest to sweeten it a bit less for others, it may be too sweet for them as it is.
[Now, that is a veiled suggestion to not use vinegar, even if he likes it if others don't Akane will end feeling bad after all. He wonders if she's aware she used vinegar though and if she is why she used it.]
[Action] LOL, she does, hands down ^^
Only not. She doesn't seem to have aaaaaany clue that she used vinegar in the tea, but even so it is a good question for -why- she would use vinegar at all. Who knows what she thought she'd grabbed. Either way, the compliment brought a smile to her face again, thoroughly pleased. WOW, maybe her cooking IS getting better after all! This is so exciting! ]
Oh, was it was too sweet? I'm sorry. [ Hrm... maybe she should have added more lemon juice... ]
[Action]
[Kodachi simply smiles, then 'accidentally' knocks a bowl from her cart. With an 'Oops' she kneels down, safe from any bloody chunks that Primo may explode into after drinking the tea.
Once she stands, though, she's surprised to see that he's alive. The girl blinks rapidly.]
What? .. Really?
[For Akane to have truly improved was quite unexpected. A little flustered, she sets her hands on her hips.]
Akane-dear, I am feeling a bit parched myself. If you could pour me a cup of tea as well?
[Action]
It's okay, I like it this way but I have always have extreme tastes.
[She really was trying to sweeten it. Then again it was the only possible reason why she would add anything to the tea at all. Now the question is if she is aware of what she put or if she just has damaged taste buds that lead her to think that things like vinegar and lemon juice are sweet. He takes another sip as he considers it, he could use his magic to help her cook better whatever the reason for this disaster may be, a simple spell so anything she made would taste the way she wanted it to taste would do the trick. But that wouldn't be fair to her and her efforts, it's the same reason why he hasn't done so with his cook or changed him for another -one capable of cooking human food-.
But his cook only cooks for him and others similar to Primo who are alo used to that type of cooking. Akane is a human and cooks for humans, that poses a serious problem.]
Eh?
[Which is demonstrated the moment Kodachi asks for a cup of tea as well. No, Kodachi! Don't do that! You won't endure it!]
If Kodachi-chan wants some, maybe you should serve it to her without adding anything else to it? It may be a bit flat on taste but it's better to start from zero and add things little by little than to make it too sweet, don't you think?
[This is Primo trying to ensure that Kodachi doesn't get a poisonous tea. Again, it's something his magic could solve easily but it's no use if Akane herself doesn't improve. And the girl had looked clearly excited when he complimented the tea, she clearly wants to improve and make good food. Using his magic without being asked to would be rude... Though if Kodachi still gets something weird he may use some to help her endure it.]
[Action] LOL Primo's expression in that icon XD
Alright - and I suppose you're right too, Primo. But Kodachi might like it sweet.
[ She picks up a cup and places the tea leaves in it, then calmly reaches for a bottle of water (no, Akane, it's Vinegar, stop), pouring it into the cup. Next she reaches for the sugar (oh for the love of god Akane that's SALT, pay attention), adding a single spoonful because she didn't want it to be too sweet. Lastly she reaches for the water (correctly this time) and adds a little more to the teacup, setting it on the small firepit set up near the cart to warm it for a second, before surrendering it to Kodachi. ]
Here you go.
[ God rest your soul. ]
[Action] 1/3
[She's curious, damn it. Her entire fiasco was planned around Akane's cooking being terrible! Is she going to have to drug it herself? BECAUSE SHE WILL. As Akane prepares the tea, Kodachi herself prepares a small plate with a steamed bun sprinkled with seasoning.]
And here is a sample of the main course; normally a bun is filled with pork, but I have found the wild boar here to be quite a wonderful substitute! The the meat has been tenderized then marinated for two hours to reduce it's toughness, seasoning added for a richer flavor. Bon appetite~.
[She bows slightly again, but then snatches Akane's offered cup.]
Thank you.
[Action] 2/3
...?
[Action] 3/3
Wh- Wha.. k- keing.. of.. kea leaves...? MY KUNG??!
[Kodachi wobbles back and forth, then angrily swings a fist at Akane.]
OO T'ICKED MEEH, OO CRAIGERUHH KURR!!!
[However due to being dizzy, she wiffs at air, then faceplants to the ground.]
[Action]
... Told you it would be better without adding anything to it.
[Taking a sip of his own tea before taking a bite of the bun. Kodachi was right, the wild boar was a good substitute for pork. He then leaves his cup and the food to go kneel besides Kodachi, holding her so she doesn't remain face down on the ground.]
Still with us, Kodachi-chan?
[Action]
Still, she's just exaggerating! It's not THAT bad. [ Now she's just all kinds of annoyed, glowering at Kodachi. You suck. ]
[Action]
Khank oo.
[In Kodachi's other hand is a mallet which she hoists over her head with her tongue hanging out. So when Akane looks at her again from the salt, the mallet is swinging down toward her head!!]
'ow ool kay, Akage Kengo!!
